IAOP Chapters: Process Excellence

Inaugural Webinar held October 7, 2008!

The IAOP Process Excellence Chapter held its inaugural webinar on
October 7, 2008 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm EDT

Chapter Chair Ajay Kapoor, vice president of business process reengineering (North America) at Genpact, introduced S. Bala, senior vice president -global reengineering leader of Genpact who shared insights on the topic of “Process Solutions for Business Realities.”  The discussion  focused on a new paradigm of process excellence driven by today’s business realities and of a proven, time tested framework to create tangible business impact.

In this fast changing world of economics, Process Excellence is a major contributor in enabling clients to achieve measurable business impact; through reduced cost of capital, cost of controllership, cycle time and improved efficiency, productivity and client satisfaction. Process Excellence can be as simple as efficiency and effectiveness in processes. To quote the management guru Peter F. Drucker, "Efficiency is doing things right; effectiveness is doing the right things."

Today Process Excellence is widely used across Product Development, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, Product Delivery and Installation, Financials, After Sales Service, Compliance, Human Resources and Outsourcing to achieve tangible results through process standardization, process optimization, gap analysis and consolidation.

This chapter will provide a forum for IAOP members to come together to “demystify” Process Excellence and identify effective Process Improvement and Change Management practices.  It will also provide a means to enhance understanding of various methodologies to institute Process Excellence; along with the use of subject matter or industry expertise. This forum will also facilitate people to connect with one another to share stories and lessons about how to best manage and implement their Process Improvement practices.
