International Association of Outsourcing Professionals Forms Engineering Chapter

Inaugural Webinar to Focus on Knowledge and Best Practices

POUGHKEEPSIE, N. Y., Oct. 21, 2008 – The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) will kick off its new Engineering Chapter with a webinar this month on “Knowledge and Best Practices of Engineering Sourcing Globally.”

Presented by IAOP Engineering Chapter Chair, Pratt & Whitney, the event will be held Oct. 29, from 12 to 1 p.m. EST.

The Webinar will include open discussions on the essential steps for choosing the right outsourcing supplier, the importance of intellectual property protection and options for the knowledge transfer to suppliers.

The new chapter will be valuable to professionals and companies involved in the growing area of engineering sourcing from any industry, said IAOP Engineering Chapter Chairman Mahesh Patel, engineering global sourcing manager, Pratt & Whitney.

“This new IAOP chapter will unite engineering professionals to share best practices and common issues, and also to resolve obstacles,” Patel said. “The network of engineering professionals we will create will be valuable for resource management, benchmarking and increasing the understanding of the latest trends and topics in the industry.”

The event is free and open to users, advisors and providers of outsourcing services who are individual or corporate members of IAOP. Non-members are invited to attend as a guest of IAOP. Click here to request a guest pass.

IAOP has 35 chapters focused on specialty areas of outsourcing and geography that bring together professionals with common interests to network, share best practices, connect with experts and advance the industry. Other newly formed chapters include Process Excellence and Central America.
